Dr. Bettina Grün is an Associate Professor of Computational Statistics at the Institute for Statistics and Mathematics, Vienna University of Economics and Business. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Vienna University of Technology and a Habilitation in Statistics from the Johannes Kepler University Linz. She previously worked at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich as Visiting Professor of Computational Statistics and at Johannes Kepler University Linz as Associate Professor.

Project leader of three research projects funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and one research project funded by the Austrian National Bank Anniversary Fund. Editorial board member of the Journal of Statistical Software, Biometrical Journal, Scandinavian Journal of Statistics, Annals of Tourism Research Empirical Insights.She co-authored 89 research articles.
Research Interests
Her research interests are in model-based clustering using mixture models and statistical computing, in particular, regarding statistical software development for the R environment for statistical computing and graphics. She enjoys interdisciplinary applications of advanced statistical methods to gain insights from data including business, economics and finance.
