Wouter van Heeswijk is an assistant professor in operations research & financial engineering at the University of Twente. His research efforts focus primarily on reinforcement learning, with both methodological developments and applications across domains. He teaches a number of courses in financial engineering, with topics including reinforcement learning in finance, numerical valuation of derivatives, real option analysis, risk management and financial accounting. Within the DIGITAL network, he is primarily involved in the doctoral training programme.
Key Achievements and Outputs
Wouter published his academic work in top Machine Learning conferences such as ICLR and top Operations Research journals such as Transportation Science. With his work, he has made methodological contributions as well as applied contributions across a variety of domains. He has acquired funding for and is involved in a variety of national and international research projects. Wouter has designed courses and course components to advance . At his university, he is involved in a number of committees to improve and monitor educational quality.
